Listed Building
Bachmann van Aaken Architects
  • 2017 – 2021

Restoration of the historic round-arch structure. Using an innovative house-in-house concept. Preserving the original façade while constructing a modern, functional interior.
  • 8.000 m²

Making the heritage-protected structure future-fit: the interior was completely dismantled down to the foundation walls. Extensive scaffolding systems were installed to stabilize the radial exterior walls, ensuring the preservation of the historic façade.
  • Challenges

All buildings within the Tafelhofpalais had to be acoustically and structurally decoupled from their surroundings to minimize noise and vibration transmission. The new structures were built on elastic bearings, ensuring long-term stability and comfort.
Future oriented workspace
The Tafelhofpalais Nürnberg will become a central hub for work and hospitality. The modern co-working spaces provide an inspiring environment for businesses and creatives. Simultaneously, hotels in the complex will offer accommodation in the heart of the city, with breakfast terraces in a tranquil courtyard.
